Guatemala

So, I've felt this connection to Guatemala for some time now -- like someday I'm gonna go there -- or something.

I've had Guatemalan friends at times -- I thought it was maybe "merely by coincidence."

Even at times I was not following our LORD very closely, Guatemala was on my mind. (not Texas)

I'm gonna start putting some legwork and see if it's where He's leading. Where He leads me, I will follow.

Oh, here's a song for you. Just replace the word "Texas" with Guatemala.

What is 24/7 Prayer?

As part of fulfilling our vision, Renovation City is getting involved in the 24/7 Prayer movement that began in England and has now spread worldwide.

Renovation City is a Community of Consecrated Artisans Changing the World

In today's climate in our country, which is sickened with the pollution of pollution, threatened with the prominence of AIDS, riddled with burgeoning racism, rife with growing huddles of the homeless, we need art and we need art in all forms. We need all methods of art to be present, everywhere present, and all the time present. -Maya Angelou

Art = Incarnating in varied form and media the Savior's desire for relationship with humans and the heart-cry of humanity for God.

Mission = Hearing what the Father is doing and cooperating with His plan

Justice = Acts of Mercy generated by the compassion of Father God working through us.

The Past

by Matthew David Valverde
So many years of sin, bad memories and poor choices,
my head filled with a thousand voices,
a student still trying to apply God’s word to life’s courses.
How do we stop history from repeating itself?
The hurts, emotions and pain, the means to an end with so little gain, striving to be better, no one to blame, life still the same, I must refocus my aim.
Another day passes, another day’s gone, standing alert, ready and waiting. Blink my eyes once, again its dawn, days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, where does the time go? The past was just a minute ago.

What is this engraving that sometimes has me craving? I’ve been freed from my slavery. Stop the bleeding, I define succeeding, love, family, relationship… what else am I needing. No more competing, Man up, be the father I’m called to be and begin leading.

I must accept the past for what it is, past. Let go, understand and grasp the future. We reap what we sow and are judged for what we do and do not know. There are two types of ignorance, choice and lack of resource, free will in place, no one forced, past, present, future somehow forged.

I’ve never heard it said or even read that life’s simple, but it is written that all things are possible and we’ll never face anything we can't handle. We must burn bright our inner candle, mind over matter, spirit over flesh. Real life, not a scandle. The past is a tool for the future which is determined by you.

Every Artist A Prophet

Every artist is prophet, be it for good or for evil. Every medium, film, theatre, chalk, crayon or a chef's palate or plate is a place that CAN manifest the divine and be a launching pad for the glory of the incarnation of the divine among humanity.

Many artist know this and reflect on it, and others intuitively are aware of the fact and willingly submit to the divine task at hand, while others resist and move in the opposite direction or spirit.

How will you choose, prophet? Will you be a prophet of the Almighty, or of the false gods of unbridled extravagance and hedonist indulgence, bringing the nations into further darkness and disolution?
